Tymphany

Tymphany is a US-headquartered audio ODM/OEM that designs and manufactures loudspeaker drivers, transducers, headphone drivers, acoustic modules, and finished speaker/headphone systems for many of the world’s leading consumer, automotive, and pro-audio brands. It also sells transducers and headphone drivers directly under the Peerless brand (“Peerless by Tymphany”). In its current form the company was created in 2005 when Silicon Valley startup Tymphany Corporation (which had developed a distinctive subwoofer technology) merged with Denmark’s Danish Sound Technology, bringing the historic Peerless (founded 1926), Vifa, and ScanSpeak transducer brands and Danish acoustic-engineering heritage together with a US management team and low-cost manufacturing in China. Tymphany is a component/system supplier rather than a consumer-facing brand: end users rarely buy a “Tymphany” product directly, but its drivers appear inside countless headphones and speakers, and its Peerless HPD headphone-driver family is sold to headphone makers and DIY builders. Since 2013-2014 Tymphany has been majority-owned by Taiwan-listed Primax Electronics, which bought a 70% stake, so it is not an independent company.
