It traces its lineage to Westone Laboratories, founded in 1959 in Colorado and a pioneer of the custom in-ear monitor for touring musicians in the 1980s. Westone Audio was carved out as the music/consumer division and sold to Lucid Audio in June 2020, separating it from the Westone hearing-healthcare/medical business. Its current catalog centers on the MACH universal balanced-armature series (MACH 10 through MACH 80), the PRO X universal line (successor to the long-running UM Pro/UM series), AM Pro X ambient monitors, and Elite/custom series IEMs.
